Fran Harding acquired STARTLE from John Benz in a trade that sent FORESTLAKE RAGAMUFFIN his way. Fran registered FORESTLAKE DEVIL’S MISTRESS (Sdlg x Startle) in 1998. FORESTLAKE DEVIL’S MISTRESS has been a parent for seed sales for Fran. I don’t know how productive of a parent it has been because there haven’t been any daylilies registered as kids out of it. A batch of Fran’s advertised seeds that she had for sale included a cross of FORESTLAKE DEVIL’S MISTRESS x WILD IRISH. Michigan hybridizer and daylily teeth expert, John Kulpa has shown a promising daylily seedling from that cross that closely resembles its parent FORESTLAKE DEVIL’S MISTRESS.
