Forestlake Ragamuffin Part 13, Carroll Quarry

I‘ve had my eye on this seedling of Carroll Quarry’s for a year now.  The seedling reminds me of MALCOLM DAVID BROOKER SENIOR.   The cross is (Forestlake Ragamuffin x Ruth Gordon). RUTH GORDON was hybridized by Luddy Lambertson.  I recently asked Carroll about his seedling. Carroll said this, “ …… last year was its first year to bloom and I tried very hard to see if it is pod fertile, it would not set a pod and this was disappointing, this year its second year to bloom it set a pod every time I put pollen on the pistil, the scape is 26 inches and blooms up out of the foliage, nicely.  The flowers have always been consistent, first bloom and last bloom are the same at 5 inches, the edge is pretty heavy yet it opens with no problem and is always fully open at daylight”  ….Thanks Carroll… Tomorrow on the Daylily Blog another seedling….
