Commander in Costume is a cross of Commander Gold Spry and R52. R52 is half sib to our 2022 introduction Redefinable. Commander In Costume has the very important Tet. Cinderella Sue in the background which makes the flowers round , and heavy in substance with a lightly ruffled edge. Commander In Costume has an evenly branched tall bud builder scape that is easy pod and pollen fertile in hot sun. I've registered it at 32" but scapes can be as tall as 38" as pictured. I'd recommend this daylily to hybridizers looking to hybridize tall scapes with a striped rounder form bloom. Of course the daylily's offspring will easily go narrow too.
