S006-00A (Widow's Walk X Prince of Thieves)
Just when you think that you have a handle on predicting where a cross will go you bloom two full sisters that prove you wrong. This is the case with H. In Mom's Honor and its sister H. Whistling Oyster, the two being as different as two flowers can be. It is obvious that H. Widow's Walk was dominant in Whistling Oyster whereas Prince Of Thieves ruled supreme in the producing of this daylily.
Named in honor of both my and Steve's moms, In Mom's Honor is a baby pink and pale pink-peach bicolor that has a creamy pink-peach watermark that compliments the sepals. Further embellishing this flower is a wire gold edge. It has notably wider, toothed petals than its sibling. Lavender-pink midribs complete the total package. There are two other distinctive sisters from the same cross under evaluation. Proving to be a valuable parent for bicolor and bitone breeding.
