moonlit encore

(Moonlit Masquerade x Eyes A Blue) is a 34” x 5-1/2” E cream with dark purple eye Tetraploid. MOONLIT ENCORE is not a state of the art cultivar in terms of its blooms, mostly because it looks too much like its pod parent, and this one reason it is being introduced at a lower price. The reason that it is being introduced is its performance. MOONLIT ENCORE blooms early and reblooms so that in 2005, it was in continuous bloom for two months, longer than any registered variety I grow. My foliage habit observations have been rather limited and I have registered it as Sev out of uncertainty. Bud count was 15 with 3 way branching in 2005, but it has had a higher bud count in previous years. While this one is great performer in my climate, I think MOONLIT ENCORE has the potential to be a superior performer in warmer climates due to the southern heritage of both of its parents. Another reason for its lower introduction price is that MOONLIT ENCORE increases like a rabbit and I have lots of it.
