GRACE BESTOWED CLEMENT 08 (Eggplant Ecstasy x Far Galaxies)  32" x 6" EM dor dip.   While these patterned eyed purple blooms exude unusual formness, GRACE BESTOWED is a casualty of the rule that states that crispation must be present on 3 petals or 3 sepals in order to qualify as an unusual form. But like the ugly duckling of story book fame, these blooms open to dazzle even the most confirmed bagelmeister.  The throat and eye are what bestows grace on the beholder. The green throat is surrounded by a larger yellow throat that turns to gold as it leads into the veined eye or perhaps it is a veined watermark and finally into the darker purple etched eye.  Six inch blooms are displayed on scapes with 3 way branching and a bud count that averages 15.   scape height was 28" inches in drought conditions.  Although I lack any measurements from previous years I registered it at 32 inches because, I know it grows taller than 28 inches under normal conditions; just how much taller I can't really say.  Moderately pod fertile and pollen fertile.
