FIRST HORIZON

S.Holmes , seedling 26-01((Moldovan Seedling x (Moonlight Masquerade)) X Vertical Horizon
SemEv. Mid. 32". 6".  4 Way Branching.  26 Budcount Tet.

FIRST HORIZON comes from crosses I made in Moldovan Gardens in 2001.  After Steve had made his selections from the seedlings, he asked if I'd like to take any of seedlings from my crosses.  I was thrilled and immediately said YES! Jamie Glossard was with me so we returned to the field and made selections. FIRST HORIZON has been a stellar performer in our garden. The light cream petal base with semi-patterned purple eye zone has made this daylily an important parent for us. It is easy to use and produces hardy tall UFOs with patterned eye zones when crossed to patterns.   Over the past two summers our friends have  requested FIRST HORIZON.  David Kirchhoff, Bill Chambers,Tom Polston, and Jamie Gossard are among friends who like this cultivar. An added bonus was that FIRST HORIZON  performed  well in the drought last summer with little watering .  FIRST HORIZON in a clump makes a wonderful garden display showing well all day long and into the evening. Easy Fertile Both Ways.
